If you hold a current and valid Standard First Aid certificate, you are eligible to take this shorter, faster-paced Standard First Aid recertification course. If your certificate expires before the course date you will need to sign up for the full course.

Please be prepared to show proof of certification.

You will review:

  • primary assessment
  • choking management
  • CPR (adults, children & infants)
  • introduction to the AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators)
  • how the AED determines a shockable rhythm
  • built-in safety features on AED
  • different situations for using an AED 
  • controlling deadly bleeding
  • shock management
  • ongoing assessment
  • bone and joint injuries 
  • respiratory problems
  • allergic reactions
  • seizures
  • head & spinal injuries
  • diabetic emergencies
