The WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level 1 course is a basic, hands-on course designed to teach you how to respond to the most common and most life-threatening workplace first aid emergencies, including CPR, bleeding, shock, and sudden medical emergencies.
Students will be able to identify and perform appropriate interventions for:
- respiratory problems
- control of bleeding
- fractures
- C-spine control
- minor soft tissue injuries
- adult CPR
- AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- choking management
- shock
- additional specific first aid topics on illness and injuries
On successful completion the student will be qualified as a WorkSafe B.C. Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 Attendant.
