This refresher first-aid course for people who hold a current first-aid certificate and want to upgrade or recertify thier current award

It reviews:

  • primary assessment
  • choking management
  • CPR (adults, children & infants)
  • introduction to the AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators)
  • how the AED determines a shockable rhythm
  • built-in safety features on AED
  • different situations for using an AED 
  • controlling deadly bleeding
  • shock management
  • ongoing assessment
  • bone and joint injuries 
  • respiratory problems
  • allergic reactions
  • seizures
  • head & spinal injuries
  • diabetic emergencies


Certificates awarded on successful completion: 
Canadian Red Cross - Standard First-Aid
Canadian Red Cross CPR level "C" and AED
WorkSafeBC approved: 



Proof of a previous accredited Standard First Aid & CPR "C" course is required in order to attend this program.
